Le Centre exploite des dispositifs de surveillance internes qui rassemblent des signaux accessibles au public et obtenus licitement en un tableau opérationnel unique, afin que les développements recevant peu d’attention analytique, au regard de leurs conséquences pour la sécurité, ne passent pas inaperçus. Les analystes du Département de la recherche observationnelle s’en servent pour corréler les événements entre les sources et retracer chaque observation jusqu’à son origine.
A monitor of the world’s active armed conflicts, so that theatres receiving little analytical attention, relative to their humanitarian and security consequences, are not lost from view.
A monitor of the criminal threats that bear on national security, from illicit finance to transnational organised crime, so the points where criminal activity meets the Centre’s remit can be seen without stitching together a dozen separate feeds.
Both run on the Centre’s own infrastructure and inform the advice the Centre provides to the entities it supports.
