Fellows, researchers, and contributors give their time, and senior leadership is unpaid. This keeps the Centre independent, free of conflicts of interest, and unable to distribute funds to individuals, which also mitigates the risk of foreign influence. It sustains the organisation\u2019s day-to-day operations and coordinates the Centre\u2019s events, ensuring that research and advisory work is fully supported while the Centre remains independent and volunteer-led.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n          <\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advisory relationship with the Government of Canada<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Centre leads a GC Advisory Board that provides consultative input to the Government of Canada. The relationship is consultative rather than directive: the board takes the Centre&#8217;s findings and, where it chooses, adjusts policy.
